Bio.

Alexander Kreher, a native of Germany, is a photographer and filmmaker who currently lives in Richmond, Virginia.

Artist Statement.

Something wonderful happens when you truly see someone. When you hear their story, watch their mouth unravel in a laugh, or note the downward bend of their eyes when they cry. Every human I meet is remarkable to me. Each of us is a living eccentricity, more complex and nuanced than any piece of music. Everyone is a wholly singular someone waiting for willing eyes and a friendly ear.

My grandfather always told me “Don’t shine through words, prove it by doing”.

So I create. 

I create work with an artful eye to real people with real stories—stories that are meaningful, challenging and force viewers past listening into acting. The ones that plant themselves deep in our minds and echo around until we finally do something about it.
